Paul Mortimer was born in East London and has lived in the area all his life. He has worked in a variety of public service roles for 35 years and is currently a member of the Government Legal Department. He gained a love of football by playing out on the street in an era when that was still possible, and plays weekly 5-a-side matches even now, as well as watching his team, West Ham, as often as he can bear to. He has attended the church since he became a Christian in 1979 and has been a member since 1982. He is currently the secretary to the Elders/Trustees, and hosts a home group. He is the registered contact for the Charity Commission and the Authorised Person for the registration of weddings. He is married to Liz and has two sons.
